Set up PC types
Create PC types that match the branch floor, hardware tiers, pricing expectations, and staff language.
Staff can assign PCs to clear types such as standard, VIP, racing, console, or esports tiers without guessing at the counter.
Before you start
- Walk the floor and list the physical PC groups.
- Decide which groups have different pricing or customer expectations.
- Have setup access in the Controller.
Map the floor first
PC types should match real stations. Do not create a type for every small detail unless staff actually need that distinction during sessions.
- Group PCs by price, performance, room, or customer experience.
- Use short names staff can recognize quickly.
- Avoid mixing premium and standard PCs under the same type if pricing differs.
Connect types to pricing decisions
A PC type becomes operationally useful when it helps staff sell the right time package or route customers to the right station.
- Use premium types when hardware or setup justifies higher prices.
- Keep basic types simple for walk-in customers.
- Review time types after changing PC groups.
Assign devices consistently
When devices are approved, assign each one to the right type so sessions, reports, and staff choices stay clear.
- Use the same station label on the PC and in the Controller.
- Check the type when moving a physical PC to another area.
- Review reports by type after the branch has live usage.
Verify it worked
- Every live PC can be assigned to a meaningful type.
- Staff can explain which type a customer should use.
- Pricing and reports make sense for the configured types.
Troubleshooting
Staff are unsure which type to choose.
Rename types using floor language and reduce unnecessary type variations.
A premium PC is sold at standard expectations.
Check the device type and related time types before the next shift.
