Create the first branch

Create the first venue branch so Controller, Agent PCs, staff, billing, and reports have the correct operating context.

What information should I prepare before creating a branch?

The first InkPlay branch has the correct name, location, owner context, and activation path for Controller setup.

Before you start

  • Create the owner account first.
  • Prepare branch name, city, contact details, and basic opening expectations.
  • Decide whether the branch starts with PC operations, console operations, or both.

Set branch identity

Branch identity should match what staff and owners use in daily conversation. This reduces confusion later when reports, licenses, and devices refer to the branch.

  • Use the public venue name or the name staff recognize.
  • Add location details that help distinguish branches if the business grows.
  • Keep owner and support contact details current.

Choose the starting modules

A branch can grow over time. For the first setup, choose the operational surfaces needed for launch rather than every optional feature.

  • Start with PC sessions if the venue has managed gaming PCs.
  • Start with console setup when TVs or console stations need timing and display support.
  • Add promotions, mobile, and advanced Agent tools after the core workflow is stable.

Prepare for activation

After the branch exists, it needs a Controller installation and activation so the local branch runtime can connect to the owner workspace.

  • Download the Controller from the owner workspace when available.
  • Install it on the counter or staff machine.
  • Use branch activation to connect the local Controller to this branch.

Verify it worked

  • The owner workspace shows the new branch.
  • The branch name is recognizable and not a placeholder.
  • The team knows which machine will run the Controller.

Troubleshooting

The branch was created with a test name.

Correct the branch identity before inviting staff or pairing devices.

The owner created multiple branches by mistake.

Pick the branch that matches the real venue before activating the Controller, then avoid using test branches for live setup.
