Set up devices
Approve and organize branch PCs so the Controller can show the right station names, states, types, and Agent connectivity.
Each physical PC has a clear Controller identity, device approval state, PC type, and station label.
Before you start
- Install and activate the Controller.
- Install Agent on at least one test PC.
- Prepare station labels that match the physical floor.
Register Agent PCs
Agent PCs should appear in the Controller after they are installed and can reach the branch Local Node.
- Install Agent on a test PC first.
- Keep the PC on the same branch network as the Controller service.
- Wait for the device to appear as pending, online, or ready for approval.
Approve and name devices
Approval is where the venue decides that a detected machine is a real branch station. Naming makes it usable for staff.
- Approve only PCs that belong to the branch.
- Name each PC using the visible station label.
- Assign the correct PC type and group before live sessions.
Maintain device records
Device records should follow the physical floor. Update them when PCs move, are repaired, or are removed from service.
- Mark or handle maintenance PCs consistently.
- Rename devices when physical station labels change.
- Review offline devices before opening hours.
Verify it worked
- Every test Agent PC appears in the Controller.
- Approved devices have clear station names and PC types.
- Staff can identify the physical PC from the Controller row or map.
Troubleshooting
A PC does not appear in devices.
Check Agent installation, network reachability, and whether the Controller service is running.
Two devices look like the same station.
Rename and verify each physical PC before allowing live sessions.
