InkPlay roles and permissions
Understand owner, admin, staff, and player responsibilities before granting access to branch controls, reports, setup, and sensitive pages.
The venue has a simple access model where staff can do their jobs without exposing owner-only setup, permissions, or audit controls.
Before you start
- List the people who will use InkPlay at the counter or as branch supervisors.
- Decide who is allowed to change pricing, permissions, staff accounts, and security settings.
- Keep at least one owner or admin account available for recovery and oversight.
Role model
InkPlay separates daily staff work from owner and admin oversight. This helps keep the branch usable while protecting settings that can affect money, security, and reports.
- Use owner or admin access for branch setup, permissions, menu management, backups, and sensitive settings.
- Use staff access for day-to-day sessions, counter flow, player help, and approved pages.
- Use player accounts only for player identity, QR login, requests, and activity.
Permission areas
Permissions should match real jobs. A cashier may need sessions and counter actions, while a supervisor may also need reports, staff pages, or setup pages.
- Grant only the pages a person needs for their role.
- Keep reports and audit access limited to trusted users.
- Review permissions after staff changes or branch process changes.
Verify it worked
- Every staff user has a role and a clear reason for the pages they can access.
- Owner/admin-only pages are not given to normal cashier accounts.
- The Controller sidebar matches the venue workflow without hiding required pages from supervisors.
Troubleshooting
A staff member cannot see a page they need.
Check both permissions and menu visibility. A page may be hidden from the sidebar or blocked by role access.
Too many staff can change sensitive settings.
Move pricing, permissions, backups, and security pages back to owner/admin oversight.
