Create the owner account
Create the first InkPlay owner account and use it as the trusted starting point for branches, billing, downloads, and admin access.
The venue has one trusted owner identity that can create branches, review billing, download installers, and recover access when staff change.
Before you start
- Use an email address controlled by the business owner or trusted operator.
- Prepare the legal or public venue name that should appear in owner records.
- Decide who will keep owner account recovery access.
Choose the account owner
The owner account should belong to the business, not to a temporary cashier. It becomes the starting point for branch setup and future recovery.
- Use a business email when possible.
- Avoid creating the first account under a staff member who may leave.
- Record who is responsible for password recovery and billing access.
Complete signup
Use the public signup flow to create the owner workspace. Keep the details clean because they may appear in branch and billing areas later.
- Enter owner name, email, password, and business details carefully.
- Confirm the email address if the flow requires verification.
- Sign in once after signup so the owner workspace is saved in the browser.
Move to branch setup
The owner account is only the first step. InkPlay becomes useful when a real branch is created and connected to a Controller.
- Create the first branch from the owner workspace.
- Download the Controller installer when the branch is ready.
- Keep owner access separate from normal staff logins.
Verify it worked
- The owner can sign in from the public website.
- The account can reach branch or setup actions.
- The venue knows who owns account recovery.
Troubleshooting
The owner account was created with the wrong staff email.
Create or move ownership to a controlled business email before setting up more branches.
Staff cannot access the Controller with the owner website password.
Use staff invitations and staff login for branch staff. Owner website access and local staff access are different flows.
