Manage game updates
Use game update tools to plan, stage, and monitor game update work without interrupting live customer sessions.
The branch treats game updates as scheduled maintenance with visible status, not random work during live play.
Before you start
- Know which games require updates.
- Review active sessions before starting update work.
- Use owner/admin or trusted staff access for update actions.
Plan the update window
Game updates can interrupt customers. Plan them during quiet time or before opening when possible.
- Avoid updating PCs with active sessions.
- Prioritize games needed for the next event or busy period.
- Tell staff which stations may be unavailable during update work.
Monitor update status
Use update status to understand which PCs are ready and which need support.
- Watch for failed or pending updates.
- Do not assume every PC finished because one PC succeeded.
- Review failures before sending customers to affected stations.
Test after updates
An update is complete only when the game can launch and staff trust the station for customers.
- Launch the updated game on a test PC.
- Check game accounts or launchers if the game requires them.
- Update staff notes if the launch behavior changed.
Verify it worked
- No active customer session is interrupted by planned update work.
- Update status is reviewed per PC or group.
- Updated games launch successfully before the station is returned to customers.
Troubleshooting
An update fails on some PCs.
Check PC health, disk space, network access, and game path before retrying.
Customers arrive before updates finish.
Keep affected stations unavailable and route customers to ready PCs.
