Install the Controller
Install the InkPlay Controller on the branch staff machine so the venue can run setup, sessions, staff work, devices, reports, and Agent tools.
The branch has a dedicated staff machine running the Controller and ready for activation, staff login, and device setup.
Before you start
- Create the owner account and first branch.
- Choose a stable counter or staff workstation that stays powered during operating hours.
- Make sure the machine can reach the branch network used by player PCs.
Choose the Controller machine
The Controller machine is operationally important. Pick a machine staff can access and keep running during the business day.
- Prefer the counter or cashier PC instead of a player PC.
- Avoid laptops that leave the venue or sleep during active hours.
- Keep power, network, and Windows updates under owner or supervisor control.
Run the installer
Use the official Controller installer from InkPlay. Avoid copying partial app folders or using old installer files unless support asks you to test a specific version.
- Download the current Controller installer from the owner workspace or official download page.
- Run the installer as a trusted Windows user.
- Launch the Controller after installation and keep it pinned or easy for staff to find.
Open and prepare activation
After installation, the Controller should guide the branch toward activation or staff login depending on the local state.
- If activation is required, continue to the branch activation manual.
- If staff login appears, sign in with a local staff account after activation.
- If the Controller service is unavailable, review the maintenance manual before changing unrelated settings.
Verify it worked
- The Controller launches from the staff machine.
- The Controller shows activation, staff login, or the dashboard instead of a blank screen.
- The selected machine remains powered and reachable on the branch network.
Troubleshooting
The Controller opens but cannot reach the local service.
Use the Controller service unavailable manual. Check the local service and port before reinstalling.
Staff installed Controller on the wrong machine.
